Perfectionism can paralyze. Feeling inadequate or not good enough often result from a focus on perfection, instead of a focus on making progress. To live is to make mistakes. Cultivate a growth mindset, have patience and self-compassion, take the lessons. Anxiety and poor mental health will improve significantly if we can give ourselves permission to focus on the effort and what we have learned, instead of how things should be, and must be, to be perfect. “Perfect” is a relative concept. To not try is the concerning factor.
