We need to create precious moments for ourselves.
It is important to recognize the signs of exhaustion, burnout and general fatigue. When we are demoralized in these ways it is essential for us to withdraw and restore our balance in a conscious manner.
Our mental wellbeing and health is non-negotiable.
Yet as Kristin Neff states:
“I found in my research that the biggest reason people aren't more self-compassionate is that they are afraid they’ll become self-indulgent.
They believe self-criticism is what keeps them in line. Most people have gotten it wrong because our culture says being hard on yourself is the way to be.”
Does this ring true for you?
We are the sole custodians of our wellness.
Nobody can choose, do or feel on our behalf.
Part of good self-care is to take the time with deliberate effort, to restore and to create space and precious moments for ourselves...
