Grounding yourself when feeling anxious and overwhelmed...

Challenging times can raise anxiety levels and intensify insecurities.

Many people live alone and may feel the isolation more severely with the current global situation.

It is helpful to practice GROUNDING should you feel overwhelmed in the moment...


If you feel you have gone too far in your head and are losing control anchor/ground yourself by doing the following:


1.Breathe slowly in through your nose and out through your nose.

2.Slowly look around you and find...

• 5 things you can see

• 4 things you can touch

• 3 things you can hear

• 2 things you can smell (or 2 smells you like)

• 1 emotion you feel. Validate the emotion and ask yourself how you would like to feel. And what can you do to get to feeling that emotion you would like to feel. Get actively involved in working towards the replacement of the first emotion...
